My newest hobby, I would have to say is robotics. I started into robotics about one year ago after my first electronics exploits. So far I've purchase two books - both definately worth it. The first was Robot Builders Bonanza: 99 Inexpensive Robotics Projects (about $15), and the second (most recent purchase) is Mobile Robots: From Inspiration to Implementation ($48.00) which I have found to be an excellent book thusfar. So far I have built one robot (out of Mobile Robots.) It is based on the TuteBot as described in Chapter 2 (I had to get a little creative to make the platform from something OTHER than legos...) It's a simple analog controlled autonomous robot - I'll try to get some pictures up soon.. Next Robot - Rug Warrior!!! |
